ZOC stands for Zone of Control. The band’s website says ZOC is a gaming term for the area of dominance. The group uses this term to not isolate loneliness, but join everyone together in one domain; joined together, but not in a symbiotic way. This domain can be anywhere, or everywhere, and includes anyone influenced by the music, so you are wanted to join in.
Oomori Seiko has become famous for being very outspoken, and doing things her own way. She seems like an anti-idol in some ways, but she personally does like idol music. So she is more of an independent idol. All band members were contestants in the Miss ID contest in 2017 or 2018. Miss ID is a contest for those considered unusual and not mainstream in Japan’s entertainment industry. We can be sure the members of ZOC are a little different that what we have seen before.
ZOC released their first video, ZOC Jikkenshitsu, in September 2018. Family Name, the group’s first single, was released April 30, 2019.
