Sayaka Yamamoto is a Japanese singer, she was a captain of the Japanese girl idol group NMB48, as well as a former member of a rock band called MAD CATZ. Her nickname is Sayanee.
On October 2010, Yamamoto participated in the first audition for NMB48. She passed along with 15 other participants. The group debuted on October 9, 2010.
On 2011, she was selected to take part in the recording of AKB48's single "Everyday, Katyusha", along with Miyuki Watanabe. It was the first AKB48 single to feature NMB members. Since then, she is a regular AKB48 senbatsu (CD single selection) member.
At the AKB48 22nd Single Senbatsu Election in 2011, Sayaka Yamamoto placed 28th with 8,697 votes.
At the AKB48 27th Single Senbatsu Election in 2012, Sayaka Yamamoto placed 18th with 23,020 votes.
At the 2013 32nd AKB48 Single Senbatsu Election, Sayaka Yamamoto placed 14th with 51,793 votes.
On April 13 2016, it was announced that her concurrent position in AKB48's Team K has been canceled.
