Supernova (Cho Shin Sung)

Cho Shin Sung (초신성), is a South Korean boy band formed under Mnet Media. Its six members specialized in the areas of singing, dance, acting, rap and pop. Since debut, the group gained popularity in South Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, and other East Asian countries.

Choshinsung fans use various versions of the group's name in different countries. In South Korea, the group is known as Choshinsung (초신성), while in Japan, they are known as Choshinsei (超新星) , in Chinese, known as Chao xin xing (超新星) and in English, Supernova. Their name translates as "Supernova". The name "Supernova", meaning an explosion of a star emitting luminosity far greater than that of the sun, was chosen from a list of numerous fan contributions. All the members are above 180cm in height.

History

2007: Debut
Like their name suggests, these six boys are gearing up to explode onto different entertainment venues, showing off their talents as singers, dancers, and actors. Their confidence stems from a two and a half years of extensive vocal, dancing, and acting training. In order to distinguish themselves from other boy bands, Supernova sports a formal look over casual attire - accentuating their masculine appeal. They are known for starring in music videos such as Seeya's & FT Island's. They have also performed at the Big4 Concert back in December 2006. They were featured on Mnet's M!Pick Season 6.

They were nominated for the Best Male Newface Group & Artist of the Year at MKMF 2007.

2008
On the 24th July 2008, the group will be visiting Thailand for their first time, participating in showcases and other events.

2009
They debute in Japan with Kimidake wo zutto and soon became famous
Thay had realesed 4 single: kimidake wo zutto, Hikari, Superstar REBORN~, ang one Album named Hana
They also hang their first concert in Japan on September 27th
In Korea, they are in a project group with T-ara and brought out 2 digital single named Time to love (TTL) and TTL listen 2
On Christmas day, they hold the X-mas tour with lots of special performances

2010 and beyond

They Bought out Single Last kiss and 1 album named Six Stars- stand for 6 members of Cho Shin Sung
CSS also co-operate with T-ara in part 3 of TTL- TTL3 or JP
In April, the went to Thailand for Mnet concert and now they are in Korea
But they'll soon be in Japan in May because they will release 3 single in 3 back-to-back day: 12,13,14. They are Magokoro, ALL ABOUT YOU and JP Reborn~

They also came out with new Japanese singles "Evidence of Luv" and "Get Wild"

August 18 2010, they unveiled a comeback mv in korea -" On days that i missed you." Promoting this song on stages like Music Bank and Inkigayo

September, Supernova hold a concert named Jumping in tokyo and atrract a lot of attention

December 2010, Cho Shin Sung released their 10th single Shining Star. Yun Hak is casting in a Japanese Film named Kimchi love, Sung Mo and Sung Je attended musical. Gwang Su is casting in a sit com. Then three rappers: Gwang Su, Ji Hyuk, Geon Il co-opperate with a Japanese Singer and about to release TTL4 (the Japanese version of TTL) and Cho SHin Sung also co-oppearate with Kara's Kang Ji Young and release new single
