Gyaruru (ギャルル) was a Hello! Project girl group produced by TNX and sifow on the TN-mix label. They were described as a "para-para gal unit", being heavily inspired by the para-para dance craze and the gyaru subculture. Formation of the group was first noted in the gal magazine Ranzuki, in the June 2007 issue which was released in mid-April 2007. The official announcement was made on April 24th 2007 on the TNX website and at a launch event. The name "Gyaruru" is based on the Japanese 'Gyaru', a transliteration of the English 'gal'.
The members were originally announced to be Gal Sone, Tokito Ami, and Tsuji Nozomi but on May 8th 2007 prior to the release of their first single, it was announced that Tsuji Nozomi would be retiring from Gyaruru to focus on her personal life. On May 15th 2007, it was announced that Abe Asami would be joining the group in her place.
The group released their first and only single, "Boom Boom Meccha Maccho!" which was a Eurobeat-inspired track complete with an accompanying para-para dance routine on June 20th 2007 under the TN-mix label. The coupling track was, "Onna no Ultra". There has been no word of the group since and all of the members have been active in their seperate careers.
