Fukuda Asuka (福田 明日香) was born December 17, 1984 and was one of the original five members of the group Morning Musume which formed in 1997 and made their major debut in 1998 with the now famous track 「モニーングコーヒー」/ "Morning Coffee". Asuka spent three years with the group before graduating and being the first Morning Musume and Hello!Project member to do so in April of 1999 and released her last single with the group 「Memory青春の光」/ "Memory Seishun no Hikari / Memory: The Light of Youth" in the same year.
The reason for her graduating was that she wanted to continue her schooling as she was the youngest member of the group. After she finished her schooling, she continued living as a regular member of society, even working as an assistant at her father's nightclub "Philippine" (located in Tokyo) in 2005.
In 2011, she returned to the music scene using the moniker "asuka" with the indie group PEACE$TONE which made its debut with 3 members, then slowly making member changes over the years. The group is currently set at 4 members.
In 2017, she announced her full return to the music industry with her solo career debut with the release of two digital singles. The first single is a cover of the B track on her last single with Morning Musume called "Never Forget", while the other is a track from her current group PEACE$TONE and is called "Minna Tabibito".
