permalink I feel that OPs usually have to be strong on vocals, which is why I didn't like the TV edit of Ling Tosite Sigure's Enigmatic Feeling (Psycho-Pass 2 OP). It is a typical Sigure song, starting with instrumental, a bit of vocals, then instrumental again. Contrast to Abnormalize, which starts with vocals, and just has very short instrumental sections in the first 1:30. Also, the best bit of Enigmatic Feeling is the instrumental section at 2:20, but the best bit of Abnormalize is later, too.

After two hours of searching, I can't find anything like Abnormalize, so that first bit isn't really relevant. I tried MAMADRIVE to no avail – weirdly, most of their songs had too much in the first 1:30. The rest are things I found on the way.

Tricot's Anamein could have made a great OP, reminiscent of Tank from Cowboy Bebop and Guardian Angel of Texhnolyze. The first 1:30 works well as a self-contained section, too.

EDs play by slightly different rules, and I think Sigure's Boukan, starting from 3:00 or so, could have worked well for some emo-ish series.

The first 1:30 of Tricot's Shoku-taku could work as either, but probably would be better as an ED. It builds up to a good point in that time, and would work with many genres.

permalink For MAMADRIVE, Mousou Tengoku starting after the instrumental intro could work, probably for some series with a confusing story.
