permalink Pencils of varying weights and my handy-dandy Pentech erasers. Without those I would be lost.

If I'm coloring I prefer to first make a photocopy of the image, and then color the photocopy with colored pencil. I'm still not used to tablets and I like the total control of shading you get with freehand work.
