On March 28 (Mon), rock band Spitz announced that they will be suspending four of their upcoming concert dates due to vocalist Kusano Masamune’s mental health.
Ever since the major Tohoku earthquake
devastated Japan on March 11, Kusano Masamune has been a little shaken by the constant reports of severe damage, lost lives, aftershocks, and the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant crisis.
On March 17, Kusano received medical attention regarding his condition, and was diagnosed with acute stress disorder
. It was recommended that he take three weeks rest to recover. In the mean time, Spitz has halted their “JAMBOREE TOUR”.
On their official site, other three Spitz members along with their agency’s President left a message in which they apologized to ticket buyers, assured fans that “fortunately, acute stress disorders are only temporary”, and stated that Kusano is currently recovering.
Spitz’s “JAMBOREE TOUR”
was scheduled to begin in Saitama on March 27. However due to Kusano’s stress, the band has suspended their shows in Tottori (April 3), Yamaguchi (April 5), and Hiroshima (April 7-8). If all goes well, Spitz will resume their tour in Tokyo on April 13.
The band will announce if the suspended shows will be rescheduled or cancelled as soon as possible.
