Shiggy Jr. has announced that it will be disbanding in September.
The band's final live "Shiggy Jr. LAST LIVE - That's what I call Shiggy Jr. -" will be held on September 7 in Tokyo at Akasaka BLITZ.
Vocalist Tomoko Ikeda explained that last summer, she discovered she had vocal chord nodules. She thought about her waning ability to sing every day, but couldn't stop performing because of her duty to the band. After some reflection, she decided it was time to go through life at her own pace.
Ikeda had surgery in April to remove the nodules. She promised to sing her heart out for the band's last live.
Shiggy Jr. was formed in 2012 by vocalist Tomoko Ikeda and guitarist Shigeyuki Harada. Bassist Natsuhiko Mori and drummer Kazuma Moroishi joined the band in 2014.
