Mao Abe has undergone surgery to remove nodules on her vocal cords.
The singer was diagnosed with vocal cord nodules this past weekend. She went to the hospital on October 10 for the surgery.
A statement was released on the singer's website on October 10 to announce her medical condition and that she had undergone surgery.
Abe will need three to four weeks of recovery following the surgery. During this time, she will need to refrain from singing. However, she will be able to speak again in three days.
The singer's surgery comes a month before she is supposed to go on tour. She is expected to have recovered and have full use of her singing voice by then, but also said that any postponements would stem from the surgery.
