Utada Hikaru's 7th studio album "Hatsukoi" has sold 204,000 copies during its first week on sale, according to Oricon.
"Hatsukoi" was the best-selling album over the past week, making this is 7th Japanese studio album in a row to reach number 1. She now takes 2nd place among female artist for most consecutive number 1 albums, exceeding BoA's 6 and beat only by Ayumi Hamasaki's 9.
Including her best-of and English album, Hikaru has now had 10 number 1 albums throughout her career.
At the end of the year, Hikaru will be embarking on her first tour in 12 years. The tour will start on November 6 and ends on December 8.
