AKB48 member Kaori Inagaki fell off stage during a concert over the weekend, resulting in part of her skull being fractured.
On April 1, the group was performing a concert at Saitama Super Arena. Inagaki tripped and fell off the stage.
Inagaki was promptly hosptialized and was found to have fractured her occipital bone. This bone forms the back and base of the skull through which the spinal cord passes.
The idol did not lose consciousness, and no cognitive abnormalities have been found at this time.
Due to her injuries, Inagaki will be going on hiatus to focus on treatment and recovery.
This is the 2nd injury to come out of the AKB48 concert at Saitama Super Arena. HKT48 member Yuka Akiyoshi fractured two of her toes during her own accident at the concert.
