Namie Amuro's all time best album "Finally" sold 459,000 copies during its first day of release.

This is the highest first day sales for a solo artist this year. The record was previously held by Keisuke Kuwata's "Garakuta" which sold 277,000 copies back in August.

"Finally" is on track to be Amuro's best selling album in a decade. "Best Fiction" was released on July 30, 2008 and sold 681,187 copies in its first week. "Finally" has outsold all albums since then in its first day.

Namie Amuro will be retiring from the music industry on September 16, 2018.
