Former SMAP Members To Form New Group

Former SMAP members Goro Inagaki, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi and Shingo Katori are apparently forming a new group.

A new website, titled "Atarashii Chizu (New Map)", was launched today. Little information has been made available, but full scale activities are said to be starting on October 16.

A video was featured on the website which alludes to the trio freeing themselves from their past and starting anew.

Unlike Johnny & Associates' groups, the trio appears to be open to modern and global ideas of how to be a group. The trio will be available on all major social media channels, and their fan club is open to members around the world.

SMAP disbanded at the end of 2016, but Goro Inagaki, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi and Shingo Katori's contract with Johnny & Associates continued until September 8, 2017. The three left the agency at the end of their contract.
