MISIA Cancels Activities After Contracting Hepatitis

MISIA is currently in the hospital getting treated for hepatitis, forcing the singer to cancel her activities.

In a statement released on her official website, MISIA explained that she had been experiencing poor health recently. She went to her doctor for a check up and was diagnosed with hepatitis, a liver infection which, if left untreated, can progress to more serious conditions.

As a result of the diagnosis, MISIA has been moved to a hospital to get treated for the disease. Despite the hospitalization, the singer assured fans that she is doing fine.

"Fortunately, my health is improving every day thanks to the treat. However, my doctors says that I need to rest for a while," she said.

MISIA was scheduled to perform at the benefit concert "The Unforgettable Day 3.11" in Sendai on March 11. This appearance has been cancelled.

"We should not forget the lessons of the Tohaku disaster...I sincerely pray for the reconstruction of the Tohaku region," she said.

MISIA's other concerts through the end of March have been postponed.

World Health Organization says Hepatitis comes in different forms: A & come from ingesting human feces. B & are typical STD/STIs, which transmit via unprotected sex, dirty syringes, dirty tatoo needles, etc. is almost always dirty syringes or needles. There are also a form caused by chronic alcohol abuse and a rare form with unknown causes, possibly genetic. My point is that Hepatitis is usually caused by something the Japanese media would think is very scandalous. I hope they don't make a big deal about it. I have friends and relatives with Hepatitis. It's a serious illness, though usually curable. Get well soon, MISIA!

she has done activities in Africa and I know hepatitis is a threat in many African countries, having to get immunized against it myself when I went to Cameroon, so if she's been there recently it could be because of that. And while you're technically correct about A & E, it doesn't mean you get it from eating poop, usually it results in drinking contaminated water, so really anyone can get hepatitis from that.
    anyway, hope she heals soon.

I'm sure there is a socially acceptable cause for her illness. Whatever the case, it wasn't her fault. 💩 happens.
