Yesterday on June 17, via Music Bank broadcast, EXO has won No.1 and got the trophy. Boys have earned the highest score for this year, getting 11570 points with “Monster.” Second place is having BTS, with 8869 points, which they earned performing “Fire” on May 2.
Leader Suho thanked all fans and staff for support. To celebrate their victory, D.O, as he promised, danced his solo version of “Monster” on stage, which got fans literally excited.
Other good news to celebrate, EXO has topped Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart for the first time with its single “Monster.” The World Digital Songs chart consists of the sales of both the Korean and Chinese version, but majority of the song sales belong to Korean version. Single “Monster” was sold with 6000 downloads in the States last week.
EXO is a sixth Korean act, which hit No 1. spot on Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart. Before them PSY picked at No.1 four times, BIGBANG with three, 2NE1, Bangtan Boys, CL and G-Dragon X Taeyang all of them topped once.
Moreover, their new album “Ex’act” ranked at No.2 on Billboard’s World Albums chart, almost landing on the top as EXO’s prior albums 2013's "XOXO" and 2015's "Exodus" both earned No. 1.
