Momoiro Clover Z has become the first artist to hold the #
1 and #
2 spots on the weekly Oricon album chart with original albums multiple times.
Momoiro Clover Z simultaneously released its new albums "
Hakkin no Yoake" and "
Amaranthus" on February 17. "Hakkin no Yoake" held the #
1 spot with 81,254 copies sold and "Amaranthus" held the #
2 spot with 80,783 copies sold.
With its latest chart toppers, Momoiro Clover Z has become the first artist to hold the #
1 and #
2 spots simultaneously with original albums. Its first time achieving this was during the 2nd week of April 2013 when its then new album "
5TH DIMENSION" was #
1 and its 2011 album "
Battle and Romance" was #
2.
Only a handful of artists have ever held the #
1 and #
2 spots on the weekly Oricon album chart with original albums.
Keiko Fuji,
Yosui Inoue,
Kei Ogura,
Southern All Stars,
BUCK-TICK,
TUBE,
L'arc~en~Ciel and
Glay have all accomplished this feat in addition to Momoiro Clover Z.
