Momona Tamakawa has announced that she will be graduating from the group and retiring from the entertainment industry at the end of April.
Tamakawa announced her intention to retire on February 22 through the group's official website. Her graduation and retirement date has been set for April 30.
"
Apart from my dreams with Dream5, I've had dreams for myself as well. Over the years my feelings regarding this dream has grown stronger, and it is because of this growing feeling that I decided to take this new step. This was not a sudden decision, and I've consulted with my staff many times before making it," she explained.
Dream5 will hold a special solo live on April 23 with all 5 members for the last time. The group will continue its activities as a 4 member group after Tamakawa's retirement.
A statement from the group expressed its sadness at seeing Tamakawa go, but showed its support for her decision and wished her good luck in pursuing her dreams.
