Ayumi Hamasaki Experiences Worst Album Sales Of Career With
Ayumi Hamasaki's latest album "Colours" sold 39,295 copies during its first week of release, placing 5th on the Oricon album chart and marking the singer's worst studio album performance to date.

Hamasaki's sales numbers have been in steady decline for years. Stiff competition this past week and the lack of promotions of the album can be attributed to the record-low sales numbers the singer experienced this week.

Prior to "Colours", the worst Hamasaki had performed on the Oricon weekly charts was placing 2nd with her albums "Guilty" in 2008 and "Party Queen" in 2012.

Last year, Hamasaki's "LOVE again" was the first album from the artist not to sell over 100,000 copies. With her first week sales for "Colours" even lower than "LOVE again", breaking 100,000 with her latest album doesn't seem likely.

Kis-My-Ft2 took the top spot on this week's Oricon chart with its latest album "Kis-My-Journey". The album sold 245,782 copies in its first week.
