EXILE's AKIRA Reprises Role As Onizuka In New GTO Series
After the 2012 remake of the drama adaptation of Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO), which starred EXILE's AKIRA, Fuji TV has revealed that they will be doing another series set to air in July. He will be reprising his role as 'Eikichi Onizuka'.

GTO was first adapted into a drama series back in 1998 with Takashi Sorimachi playing as Onizuka. The 2012 version featured Kichijoji as the setting but in the upcoming series, it will be in Shonan, Onizuka's hometown.

Aside from AKIRA, actors Yu Shirota, Yusuke Yamamoto, Ryosei Tayama and Hitomi Kuroki will still play their roles as 'Ryuji Danma', 'Toshiyuki Saejima', 'Hiroshi Uchiyamada', and 'Yoshiko Sakurai' respectively.

In addition, the manga will have a new serialization starting on the April 14th issue of Young Magazine Volume 20, as confirmed by the manga's writer Tooru Fujisawa. It will be titled "GTO Paradise Lost".
