Yesterday, on 29th of May, famous Japanese rock band
Mr.Children have finally opened their own
official youtube channel.
The music video for their latest digital single "REM" was uploaded first, followed by 19 other official music videos from across band's 24 year career, including their old releases such as "Tomorrow never knows", "Hana -Memento-Mori-" and "Nishi e Higashi e".
As the released material is always subject to copyright protection, fans expressed their happiness, stating that now they can enjoy all videos in one place without them being removed.
Mr.Children is second best selling artists in Japan, having sold over 50 million records. Winners of multiply music awards, the band is known for it's always emotional songs, meaningful lyrics and intense vocals. They held the record for the highest first week sales of a single in Japan for 15 years, with 1.2 million copies of their 10th single "Namonaki Uta", have 30 consecutive number 1 singles and managed to replace Glay as the all-male band to have the most number 1 albums on the Oricon charts. Their 2007 single "Tabidachi no uta" (marked their 27th consecutive number 1 single) was used as an ending theme for the movie "Koizora", making the band popular among younger audience.
