After the success that PSY and Big Bang experienced through their live performances and world tour, YG Entertainment announced that they will now work to establish themselves in the Chinese music market.
The news was first reported by Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post. Later the company stated that, "In order to expand our business ventures in greater China, we are planning to start a separate company there… We are currently cooperating with our partners to create a company, but we are unable to mention the specific details on what it will be like as of now."
The company also stated that they do not expect to earn a profit through physical CD sales and digital downloading. With this in mind, YG Entertainment will focus on concerts and events.
