Open World Entertainment
CEO Jang Suk Woo
has plead guilty to sexually assaulting female trainees and has been sentenced to 6 years in prison
"He pleads guilty to all charges. He will work to help begin the process of healing for the victims
," his lawyer stated.
The confession comes as a complete change in the CEO and his legal team's handling of the case. Prior to his hearing on November 13th, Jang Suk Woo has denied the charges against him, claiming that the sexual relations between him and the female trainees were consensual.
After pleading guilty to sexual assault, Jang Suk Woo's lawyers began appealing to the court to reduce his 6 year prison sentence. They argued that he has done good by helping spread the Hallyu wave, particularly in China.
Jang Suk Woo was arrested in April
for sexually harassing, assaulting and raping female trainees. He was found guilty of sexual assault, rape
and violating child labor laws.
