23rd Golden Melody Award Nominees Announced

The nominees for the 23rd annual Golden Melody Awards have been revealed.

Leading the pack in nominations this year are Mayday, Hebe and Tanya Chua. These artists were all nominates for 7 categories each.

This year, Hebe will be competing for the award for Best Mandarin Album with her 2nd solo album "MY LOVE". Last year, the singer' debut album "To Hebe" was disqualified from being nominated in this category after judges decided that she used too much autotune.

Tanya Chua was one of the people announcing the nominees this year. For her, finding out she was nominated 7 times was almost unbelievable.

"I couldn't look and could barely stand on stage when my 7th nomination was announced. When they were announcing it, I told myself to stay calm, but when I heard my name, I suddenly didn't know what to feel. Only one word could describe how I felt: moved. Just moved," she stated.

The 23rd Golden Melody Awards will be held on June 23rd at the Taipei Arena. Taiwan TV will be broadcasting the award show.
