Fairies was a Japanese pop idol group formed by talent agency Vision Factory (now Rising Production) and under Avex's Sonic Groove label. Formed in 2011, they have hopes of achieving fame like agency mates Amuro Namie and SPEED. On September 21, 2011, they made their debut with seven members (Inoue Rikako, Nomoto Sora, Ito Momoka, Hayashida Mahiro, Fujita Miria, Kiyomura Kawane, Shimomura Miki), promoting the single "More Kiss / Song for You." On December 21, 2011, Fairies released their single "HERO / Sweet Jewel." At the 53rd Japan Record Awards that year, Fairies was awarded the Best New Artist award.
On January 17, 2013, it was announced that Kiyomura Kawane would withdraw from the group to focus on her studies. On February 1, 2013, the first subunit M-Three was announced. The unit consists of Hayashida Mahiro, Fujita Miria, and Shimomura Miki. They debuted with single "Yumemiru Dancing Doll."
On March 26, 2014, Fairies released their first album Fairies, which included Ito Momoka's solo debut single "Poker Face."
Fairies will be celebrating their fifth anniversary on September 21, 2016.
