You can sing beautifully, you can dance with such amazing grace, and your artistic skills make you stand out. Amazing as all of these things are, you remain humble and don’t boast of your own skills and talents. Not once have I ever seen you be haughty or high on yourself.
On top of your talents and skills, you never cease to entertain me. When you laugh, I can’t help but grin because of the way your face wrinkles when you’re amused. Forgive me for saying so, but I find that absolutely adorable. You don’t mind doing embarrassing things and you always play along with the rest of Arashi, despite how much they tease you and make fun of you. Your love for what you do is so apparent it’s almost tangible.
Thank you for sharing your talents with us, your fans. Thank you for being Arashi’s Riida and Captain. Thank you for loving what you do enough to give up doing your hobbies to devote countless hours to please us. Thank you for simply being your laid back, easy going, tanned, fish-loving self!

You never cease to amaze me. Not only do you participate in Arashi (which requires an amazing amount of hours as it is), but you also work as a newscaster and actor on top of all that. You worked hard to get to where you are and you never give up, despite whatever trails are ahead of you. You don’t let your failures get you down. You get right back up and try again, no matter how many times it takes until you get it right. You impress me with your undying spirit.
One of the reasons why I love Arashi so much can certainly be credited to you. For the first time in my life, I was able to hear rap in music and not hate it, because of you. Your raps are the only kind that I’ve ever found myself being able to enjoy. Your passion in your lyrics can be easily felt and the words you sing can only inspire others to do their very best!
Thank you for never giving up on your dreams. Thank you for not quitting Arashi when you were busy with studying at Keio and working to simply reach your own goals. You are a constant source of energy for me. Whenever I see you get excited or energized over something, I can’t help but start to get excited myself. You are like a bright ray of sunshine that always helps me feel better when I’m feeling down.
Your smile and laughter have to be two of my favorite things about you. They are an endless source of enjoyment and I can’t help but love them! You remind me of my siblings so much that I can’t help but love you like family, even though we’ve never met. Your witty, sarcastic comments are always amusing. I can’t get enough of it. While others might call you a ‘brat’, I see a person who likes making others laugh, even if it means poking fun and making sharp remarks.
Your talent in song writing has inspired me to try my own hand at it. Your simple compositions have the power to make one feel what you’re trying to express the first time through. Your love for music and for what you do is so apparent that it’s hard not to love you whenever your playing an instrument or singing. It’s a constant source of inspiration for me.
Thank you for sharing your songs with us. Thank you for doing what you love and sharing that with others, be it magic to video games to music. You are the reason I first found Arashi and so for that I truly thank you. Because of you, I grew interested and my love for not only your, but the other four have grown to a degree I can’t even measure. Your love for what you do is so easy to see that I had to see why you loved it. Because of that, I found Arashi and I too have fallen in love.
Your love for Arashi is amazing. Your motivation when it comes to planning the concerts you perform is just astounding. From what I’ve seen, the concerts are amazing! I would love to see one in person and I hope someday I get that chance. I’d love to see what you planned out and the work you’ve put into pleasing the fans and making the experience wonderful for everyone.

Arashi might be picked up to be NHK’s New Year’s Eve music special hosts for the third time, reports Tokyo Sports on September 7.
It has been reported NHK producers are beginning to look for potential hosts for Kohaku Uta Gassen’s red (akagumi) female artist team, and white (shirogumi) male artist team.

Although no one can definitely say this will happen, there is no denying the fact the group attracted TV ratings of over 40% in their past two Kohaku shows.
It has beee reported the most likely candidate for the women’s akagumi host this year will be actress Maki Horikita, who has been playing the main character in NHK’s popular drama 梅ちゃん先生 (Ume-chan Sensei).

In the new CM of Aiba Masaki and Ohno Satoshi for HITACHI appliances, the duo plays as clerk and customer for HITACHI’s new line of refrigerators. The said appliance boasts “vacuum chilled method for comfortable cooling” that allow fruits, vegetables, and raw food to “sleep” while being stored; thus, keeping its freshness and nutrients.

The closeness between the two is also evident during the making that the director have to tell them that they are “too close” when they were walking toward the refrigerator. During one of the breaks, the two made a closer look of the refrigerator when Ohno asks if there’s no transparent refrigerator. Aiba thinks that it would be embarrassing to have one because once you have guests they would know what type of food you eat and so.
The new HITACHI CM will air this Sept. 8th. It will have a 15 secs and 30 secs. version.

Not as emotional as Ninomiya, Jun Matsumoto said that he was able to hold back tears, “I was exactly the opposite than the last time, I learned to fight back the tears, but there’s still a great deal of emotions involved.”
Masaki Aiba got emotional after Kennosuke read-out a letter after completion of the 120 km marathon challenge. One of the runners, Akira Hokuto, said that she got a much-needed boost of energy when she heard an Arashi song over the speaker. “I was glad that our song was able to give her the energy,” Aiba relayed.
As part of the program’s plan, Sho Sakurai visited Iwate while Jun Matsumoto visited Miyagi. Both areas have been badly-affected by the earthquake last year. “There’s a crane on top of a pile of rubble, there’s so much tidying and re-constructing to be done”, Sakurai related after seeing the condition.
Jun Matsumoto helped a High School Brass Band that was affected by last year’s earthquake. “It has been very fulfilling, thank you to everyone who have helped”, he added.
Satoshi Ohno can’t help not to be impressed with Matsumoto’s enthusiasm for the brass band, “I was really surprise with his work for the students, it was really touching when he conducted for the band”, the Arashi leader stated. As to how will he summarized the feelings for this year’s 24 hour TV, Ohno could only reply,”strong”.
24 Hr TV broadcast was able to accumulate an average of 17.2% audience rate, peaking at 39.5% (Kanto) during the marathon. It also received a 20.5% audience share in earthquake-stricken Fukushima while Ninomiya’s drama “I fly in the sky with wheel chair” got 23.8%.
Furthermore, monetary donation for 24 Hr TV have reached 280 Million Yen.

The two were dressed up as Namahage (folklore ogres) in the CM, so they appeared as Namahage for the CM presentation and were making battle cries as they went on stage. When they got to the middle of the stage, the two of them took of their masks and Ohno remarked cheekily, “It’s actually me” while Aiba asked the audience, “I put in my best, so what do you think?”
For the filming of the CM, Ohno and Aiba visited kids in their Namahage guise to surprise them, and the children got frightened and ended up crying. Aiba commented, “My heart really hurt when I made them cry … I tried hard to make my heart Namahage-like,” bringing forth much laughter from the audience.
This new CM will be showing from August 3rd onwards and is the fourth part of the CM series, “Nissan PURE DRIVE Series” featuring all five Arashi members. In this series, the members introduce different cars that are matched to their respective characters. The Serena S-Hybrid is a minivan marketed for families and its CM features Ohno and Aiba visiting families dressed up as Namahage. The CM was shot in one-take without any rehearsals or retakes and the result is a realistic CM with natural reactions from the people involved.
In preparation for the CM shoot, Ohno and Aiba have been learning how to portray the Namahage and the culture behind them. Aiba revealed, “Voicing the Namahage and getting the actions right was harder than expected. We were told that we had only one take so we were really nervous.” Ohno reflected upon the filming as he said, “I think the fun atmosphere during the shooting got across in the CM,” adding “Some kids were crying loudly and I felt really sorry.”
When asked where they would go in the Serena S-Hybrid, Aiba suggested, “How about camping or something along that line?” and Ohno, who’s known for being a huge fishing fan answered, “Fishing. Barbecue is good too. This car is big enough to put the fishing rods in it.”
The kids, Miura Rio and Miura Keiji, who were in the CM also appeared at the event. Rio commented, “It was very scary when the Namahage appeared, but when they took off their masks, and I saw that it was Ohno-san and Aiba-san, I was really happy!” Ohno and Aiba were visibly relieved as they said, “That’s good~” When Keiji expressed that he would like to visit Sky Tree in the car, Aiba responded, “Understood. Let’s go together!”
