  • Three teeth out and all numbed up.

I opted for local anesthesia as opposed to conscious sedation a.k.a what I did for my wisdom teeth extraction three years ago. They still gave me a bit of nitrous oxide (a.k.a laughing gas) before they numbed me up. I gotta say, the feeling is super strange. It's true that there are many planes of consciousness.. because once that nitrous oxide kicked in, I could feel my senses dulling out. It's a prolonged moment of falling asleep, if you will. It felt like I was just one blink away from being completely knocked out, suspended in that moment between being conscious and unconscious.

So, I had my eyes open, mildly aware of what was going on, yet not quite.. I could feel the needles, but again, the feeling was pretty muted - just a slight prick. Later on, when the actual excavating happened, there was little to no pressure. Overall, just super strange! T.T It was all over and done with in twenty minutes. Crazy. And now I feel like I'm missing a huge chunk of my lower jaw, with gauze sticking out of my mouth (yes, very attractive, I know). Yeah, try drinking or even swallowing - it kinda sucks.

Sigh, the woes of having stupid teeth. Yay, I get to have braces soon. Do you sense my enthusiasm? I can barely contain it.

The more I see of the world and all it encompasses, the more I realize I don't know much about it.

Because when you do love who you are, irregardless of the many factors and variables that life will inevitably hurl your way, you'll be able to withstand them, including heartbreak (among other things).

With young love, it's often too easy to give it your all, to give it everything you've got, because you've never been hurt, because you don't quite see where it's going, and you don't quite give a damn anyway. It's easy to think that the world revolves around him, that he is the sun in your solar system.

But what happens when he decides to depart from your orbit? Everything crumbles along with him. He brings away the light, the warmth, even gravity.

      He can't be your everything,
      because he shouldn't be.

      • Hopeful.

Since 2011 is ending on a good note for me, I can't help but feel hopeful about 2012! :)

It's been a stormy year, it has. The year was filled with a lot of uncertainty, doubts, ups and downs, the whole nine yards. But I'm glad that a few 'burdens' have been lifted, which is all I could have hoped for.

Anyway, just wanted to end out the year with a final journal entry on the beloved JpopAsia. :D Cheers to a great 2012!

        • Yeah, what IS up with kids these days! :O

The level of how rude and obnoxious some kids can be is truly astonishing and horrifying. I seriously fear for what is to come.

I've seen evidence of it every now and then but it still boggles my mind.

Case in point, I was given a serving of it just the other day.

I was at the library, just perusing the CD collection and waiting to meet up with a friend when a girl came up to me. She must have only been around 10 or 12, but her heavy makeup made her look about 25. She looked up ...

I was at the library, just perusing the CD collection and waiting to meet up with a friend when a girl came up to me. She must have only been around 10 or 12, but her heavy makeup made her look about 25. She looked up at me (because she was that short, hah) through her black-rimmed raccoon eyes and just about suggested I owed her a lifetime of indentured servitude.

"Hey, where is the heavy metal stuff,"

I looked around, not sure to whom the question was addressed to. Her black-hole like eyes stared at me impatiently. 'Hm guess she was asking me..'

"Hm, er, I'm not quite sure, but you could check the computer database," I pointed to the nearest computer station. I was stumped because heavy metal wasn't really my cup of tea nor my forte.

"Well, can you check for me," It wasn't as much of a question or a request but more of a command. Her voice already belying impatience.

'Oh wow, seriously.. ' I thought to myself.. I find it hard to have patience for people who lack common courtesy. 'Fine, I used to volunteer at the library, I can help out.'

So. I searched while she directed. I tried to teach her because you know the old saying, "Teach a person how to fish, yada-yada".

But she was just unwilling to learn, as it turns out.

I later on physically went and plucked out her CDs for her. I never heard a "thank you" or a "please" for that matter, from her.

I know I sound rather petty right now. I'm usually happy to help, honestly and seriously, especially if you don't make me feel like I somehow owe it to you to help you!

And oh yeah, when the crude (but highly hilarious) Chonny complains about the rude brats these days, you know there's a problem.

Watch this and be awed (not the good kind of awe, fyi):

Just wanted to rant. XD And the Jpops! WOOT.

He is such a talented and successful individual, yet he still seems so down-to-earth and humble. And I guess that's what I think is really cool about Lee Hom. :D
He holds himself so well, speaks intelligently and thoughtfully.. it's absolutely admirable.

Listening to Khalil Fong's new album "15"!

                THANK YOU, YOUTUBE! <3
(I'm sorry, Khalil :(... the temptation was too great.. I will get your album soon!)

This album is very Khalil-esque, yet not quite.. I can't quite put my finger on how to properly describe it. It features a lot of guitar playing, that's for sure. ;) Which is very fitting, I guess, since Khalil's album title is in reference to his age when he started to take the guitar seriously.

The opening number reminds me of Michael Jackson. XD

OMG. O.O There's rapping in this one! I like the rock-and-roll feel to it.

Khalil's rocking it! :D This one's an interesting fusion of genres..

Oooh, a light and happy melody to some serious lyrics. Reminds me of John Mayer's "Heart of Life", actually.

I instantly liked the beat to this song :) And it's a duet! Good blend of voices.

                :D

Two Person Tour! XD Khalil and his tours.. next album it'll be a solo tour :p I like it better the second time around.. and this one is heavily influenced by John Mayer. But then again, it may just be the guitar playing..

Khalil singing his Blues away~ :p

Haha. The lyrics to this one is like a reply song to SNSD's "Mr. Taxi". Yea, I'm lame. :(

Overall, I have to say I think I will enjoy this album of Khalil's. I already like it listening to it the second time around.
It showcases a different side of him; it's good to see him test the musical waters, and blur the lines between genres. :moved: · close

Anyway, being (relatively) young and naive makes me vulnerable to being idealistic.

Ideally, it would be nice to live in world where I could practice basic trust with strangers..
Realistically though, I would probably be stabbed, mugged, and left for dead without any organs..

Ideally, we wouldn't judge anyone prematurely..
Realistically, we just do.. even if we try ever so hard not to..

Ideally, the theory behind Communism would work..
Realistically, obviously it doesn't.. *points to North Korea as living, breathing proof*

Ideally, we'd be perfect in every way..
                  Realistically, we're just human beings..

And it really does boil down to that. We're humans. Just humans. · close
