MEG's first introduction to music was through piano, which she has played since childhood. At the age of 19 she auditioned for a record company singing BONNIE PINK's "It's Gonna Rain!" and passed. In July 2002 MEG made her major label debut with the single "Scanty Blues", produced by Okamura Yasuyuki. Her second single was a cover of the song "Ikenai Kotokai". ("Kasa to Shizuku" was coupled with this single.) However, it is rumored that Okamura quit producing MEG after this single due to her attitude. This didn't hinder MEG; she continued to release a string of singles and albums up until the end of the 2004.

Her ninth single, "Amai Zeitaku", was the first to be produced by capsule's Nakata Yasutaka. Her next single, OK, was also produced by Nakata; it was her first being signed to Universal Music Japan. She has continued to work with Nakata for her singles, as well as her fourth album, BEAM. MEG's first single of 2008 is MAGIC, and her second, which will be released on May 7th, is titled HEART.
