HY formed in year 2000 with five high school friends in Okinawa. The band's popularity rose rapidly after a series of street performances, and their debut album, "Departure" (Okinawa-only) sold out immediately. In 2002 the band conducted a joint-live performance with LINKIN PARK, further solidifying their reputation as one of Japan’s top artists.
Their 2nd Album "Street Story" released in April 2003 and immediately topped the charts, ranking at #1 for 4 straight weeks (Indies Artist Record). Their 3rd album "TRUNK" was released the following year and yet again debuted at #1 – the first time such a feat has been accomplished by an Indies Artist.
The band's latest album "Confidence" created yet another Indies Music Record by debuting at #1 and retaining the top spot for 2 consecutive weeks.
