Information
Kalafina was formed in 2007 by Kajiura Yuki to perform seven main themes for seven chapters of the theater features of Kara no Kyoukai. In January 2008, they released their debut single oblivious, featured theme songs for three first chapters of the series, all songs in this single were perfomed by Wakana and Keiko. The single reached #8 on the Oricon charts. With the success of their debut single, they released a remix mini-album in April 2008 called Re/oblivious containing remixes of songs from their previous single.
In May 2008, the name of four singers was revealed, Wakana and Keiko are from FictionJunction project while Maya and Hikaru were chosen from an audition of 30,000 participants held by Sony Music and Kajiura Yuki. Their official website also update with a preview of a new song called ARIA, which is the theme song of the fourth Kara no Kyoukai.
In June 2008, Kalafina's Official Website announced their second single, sprinter / ARIA, this single will feature the fourth and fifth theme song of Kara no Kyoukai. Maya and Hikaru will participate in the vocals in addition to Wakana and Keiko.
