Artist information of Immi

immi is a Japanese electropop artist. Formerly known as 中澤真由 (Mayu Nakazawa), her first single, “Cosmic Pink EP”, was released in November 2007 on iTunes Japan and was downloaded over 50,000 times in one week. The song Local Train was recently used in a commercial for Canon. Her second single, “Klaxon”, was released in March 2008, and contained “Lovesong”, a cover of The Cure. In August 2008, she released her first album “Switch”, on iTunes. Immi is her own songwriter and composer, but she is produced by N.A.i.D. and JETBIKINI. immi recently got signed to DefStar records.

This is a nice little song. She has a nice voice and the video is interesting. There have been some videos out there that just randomly jump from one thing to another. She actually has a segway into the odd stuff int he video. So that is nice that her people are thinking about some kind of story line.

Very good single, it actually gets better the more I listen to it. Hopefully this is the sort of sound we can expect from her new album, because it is a lot more accomplished than the sound with her album Switch (which I found disappointing).

Oh, and she looks fantastic in blonde. She pulls the look off.

~love her with blonde hair. she looks really good this way.
~that phone is so oldschool. really, cordless phones dont even exist in japan outside the office. lol.
~she looks kinda lazy and out of it, in her dream parts. like she doesnt want to be shooting the video.

she sounds much more real and skillful than other j-tek artists...its pribably because their producers are inspired by House music, while immi's producers, N.A.i.D and Jetbikini are inspired by french new wave and electro.
