my home is on the side of the bookstore
on the shopping street
everyday without fail
so many cars and people pass by
suddenly people are calling me a cat,
and I realize this for myself.
and before you know it,
I've been classified
as some something or other species of the cat family.
they look at me, come over and say MEOW
what are they stupid?
even if I ask them, they don't understand
they just think for a split second how adorable I am
go out whenever I please,
nestle up to people whenever I please
it's at these very times,
when I'm just doing my best to get by
that even in this dark world
there are lots of little loves
always waiting to be found
within my reach
my home is next to the grocery store
on the shopping street
those selfish folks
toss out garbage everyday
I step on a lit cigarette,
and burn the meat of my paw
"you bastard!"
even if I say it, they don't understand
they look at me with contempt
cry whenever I please,
relax whenever I please
make something that should be easy difficult
even in this sad world,
there are lots of little loves.
they don't have to be big,
they'll grow, and become red balloons.
tears,
still only the seeds of tears
I'll make them blossom. ...
