There's a white-roofed hospital on a hill outside the town
Every Sunday afternoon
I take her flowers
On afternoons when she's cranky, she frowns
And sometimes she even throws the vase at me
But on days when she's feeling good, even you can hear what she always says
And it goes on like this
"I'm gonna get my wings soon and fly through this window
Then I'll go to the movies and buy new clothes
And I'll eat ice cream and fall in love with an angel"
She's only fourteen
There's a white-roofed hospital on a hill outside the town
Every Sunday afternoon
Today I'm going to see her again
She hates negative thinking and stereotypes more than anything
But she loves freedom and rock and she always says
"Life's not about how long you live, but how you live, right?"
She smiles proudly and it goes on like this
"I'm gonna get my wings soon and fly through this window
I'll fly up above the clouds and then come back down to Earth
Then I'll go to the movies and buy new clothes
And I'll eat ice cream and ride the metro
I'll get my ears pierced and go to school once in a while
And at night I want to sleep in your arms"
There's a white-roofed hospital on a hill outside the town
Every Sunday afternoon
Today I'm going to see her again
"I'm gonna get my wings now and fly through this window
I'll fly up above the clouds and then come back down to Earth
Then I'll go to the movies and buy new clothes
And I'll eat ice cream and ride the metro
I'll get my ears pierced and go to school once in a while
And at night I want to have the best sleep ever
Held tight in your arms"
