American Singer Yuna Ito has been missing from the music industry since the end of 2010 when she released her Love: Singles Best 2005—2010 album. However, the songstress just made an appearance at Singapore's Men's Fashion Week 2012, and performed a few of her hits and gave some interviews.
Having been born in Los Angeles to a Japanese father and Korean mother, Ito is fluent in English, Japanese, and Korean. The singer has sang for many openings and themes for dramas and animes, and has sold over 1.8 million albums and singles in her 7 year career, and even collaborated with legends such as Celine Dion.
Ito explained that during the past year, she's been on a slight break taking lessons in jazz, salsa, ballet, and burlesque. Ito stated I think my career moved too fast. That's why I'm taking now to rediscover myself.
Ito went on to state that she is working on another album that will contain love ballads, the music she grew up on. She hopes to interject some R&B styles from older singers like Luther Vandross as well. Ito also stated she is open to recording some Korean pop songs as she is fluent in the language.
Here is Yuna Ito singing a little bit of Korean on Cho PD's song "Somebody" (You can hear Ito singing in Korean around the 1:13 mark).
Here is an English interview she gave for Men's Fashion Week (A separate interview from the one above).

Yuna Ito is finally back! I have waited this so long! Yuna is always best!
still waiting for her to release new contents
A little late but.... d***, thank gosh she's getting back in the music industry!! I've missed her so much. I guess she felt her music career was moving too fast but when I got into her music it went so quick... Gah Yuna, I hope you're able to get back into music again with a bang. I'm looking so forward to this~
What else is there?! Go Yuna...
Wow...Korean? I'm looking forward for it
I love Yuna Ito, but why would she debut in South Korea? Honestly, the Japanese music industry is much bigger, and unless she becomes an idol I doubt she will garner much attention from the Korean crowd.
Idols aren't really that huge in Korea. Ballad singers are probably the most well known, and actors.
hmmmmm interesting
I love her songs. She has really amazing voice. I'm not surprised that Celine sang with her I have this single and she is really great. I love her solo ver.
She always sing pop so I think it will be great to hear R&B in her performance.
oh she is so great
never head of her she sounds amazing!!
It's good to hear about her, haven't for ages. Also a Korean debut would be pretty interesting~

Wow, Korean/Japanese, born in L.A., raised in Hawaii and speaks three languages, fluent in each (not simply learning them to record music). I knew there was a reason why I loved her so much. Yuna-chan, you are an inspiration!

I adore her music. I'm so glad that I'll be able to listen to her sing once more. It isn't that I'm bored with her currently available songs, but I would be more than pleased to listen to newer songs.
