The rumors are true. On June 7th YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz guitarist TAKUMI announced through his blog that the band will break up on July 4th.
On July 4th YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz will hold their Budokan live that will also be Gackt’s birthday live!
But there is some sad news for fans because that day will mark the end of the band. The members decided to go separated ways after their last live titled “Camui Gakuen, Sparkly Male Cram School, Happy Birthday Live, Don't Cry, Let's Say Sayonara With Smiles”.
As for reasons, Takumi stated at their nico raji broadcast last Friday that some members want to reach their own, separated goals and they can’t reach them while being part of YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz. That’s why they’ve decided on a positive breakup in order to create something new.
They hope their fans are looking forward to their new projects!

Haha, I can't help but agree a little with cuz's opinion. I miss Gackt's older stuff, but I still respect that he's talented and powerful enough to take on so many different kinds of projects...hopefully, all those members are able to pursue the directions they chose!

Gackt has always worked well with others, but it has never been a consistent thing. He has said before, in order to grow as an artist you must continue to change. Look at his career, he has never stayed in one form for long. The only ones who have always been with him are You and Chacha.
So, Not surprised. Just looking forward to what is to come.
Not so sad for me, though I like the way the voices of GACKT and Jon complement one another. It's a pity, but for GACKT to go his solo way is probably the best resolution

I saw it ....look at the history. The only ones who have been with Gackt consistently is You and Chacha. Although I did not see is this soon.
GACKT is kicking John to the curb! I was hoping for his Solo days... I don't think GACKT needs a Co Singer!

I'm very excited to see what GACKT will have in store for us in the future, so I am not as sad as I could be about this breakup. My only fear is that he won't be coming to europe anymore. Just like Takanori only came to europe as "abingdon boys school". I really hope he will do european tours solo, too
But nevertheless YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz gave me 2 absolutely fantastic concerts, which I am SO greatful for. I wish all members the best.

I am looking very forward to hearing their seperate projects. I am glad this was a positive break up unlike a lot of break ups I have read as of late. I wish them the best of luck on their new projects.
I just started to warm up to them... So now I will probably never see Jon live unless Fade come to Poland which I doubt

and you guys are bogus to Jon! Like i keep telling people, he was there for a reason. Gackt WANTED him there for a reason, whether you see it or not.

I've been a absolutely great Gackt fan for a very long time. But I've been a Yellow Fried Chickenz fan, too.
Last summer they had their concert in Collogne, Germany. That was a perfectly unbelieveble concert. I hoped that Yellow Fried Chickenz would return to Germany.
