During X JAPAN’s press conference at the Japan Expo in Paris, leader YOSHIKI officially confirmed that the band has added Asia to its 2011 World Tour and a second European tour is in the works.
A few weeks back on JpopAsia, we told you that YOSHIKI had announced through several tweets X JAPAN’s plans to tour Asia, and now it has been made official! At the moment, the band has confirmed 6 concerts in October and November—Shanghai, Beijing, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Thailand. Dates and venues have not yet been announced, but more information will be available in a few weeks.
YOSHIKI also announced that the band plans to do an even bigger European tour in 2012. However, the group is still working out the details for this tour. During the question portion of the press conference, a fan from Russia asked about the possibility of a concert there, and YOSHIKI replied, “I love caviar, so we will go to Russia.”
The band is currently in Europe on the first half of their 2011 World Tour. They started in London on June 28th, followed by Paris on July 1st, will head to Utrecht on the 2nd, and finish in Berlin on July 4th. In August, they will play at Summer Sonic in Japan, and then will resume their world tour with concerts in South America.
With the world tour and highly anticipated recent release of their debut English album, X JAPAN has a busy year ahead of them.
