STEREOPONY's AIMI has had surgery on her vocal cord due to an abnormal growths on 2 areas on her throat.
AIMI first noticed that something was wrong after the final performance of the band's recent national tour. She went to the hospital to get it checked out. Doctors found the growths and informed her that she would need to have surgery right away.
Despite her medical condition, she delayed surgery due to concerts that were already scheduled, not wanting to disappoint her fans. The operation was a success. She is currently recovering.
AIMI will be recuperating until the band's activities resume on August 26th for their live event "MUSIC MONSTERS -2012 summer-".

This is unfortunately what happens when singers don't take voice lessons. They push themselves too hard without realizing it cause they have no training. However, with lots of rest she can still come through this. Although her voice probably won't ever be the same she can still sing if she takes good care of herself from here on.
