SISTAR Hasn't Had A Break In 2 Years

SISTAR's Bora and Dasom revealed that the group hasn't had a single break for the past 2 year, their agency deciding to give them more work rather than some time off.

The two revealed their lack of rest on the latest episode of KBS 2TV's "Happy Together 3". In addition to constantly releasing new music, variety show appearances and concerts keep the girls working all of the time.

"Our agency told us they would give us a vacation this summer, but instead we were suddenly scheduled to promote 'Loving U'. We thought they would give us a vacation after that, but once promotions for the song come end, we have to hold concerts and performances. I told them just three days would be enough, just please give us a vacation," Bora shared.

Fellow guests Eun Ji Won and 2PM's Wooyoung tried to console the overworked girls. Neither thought the concert system was a good one.

    Really? :(

I love Starship but if they are overworking them then I suggest they give them rest. Even just for a few days.

their no-break program made them nr1 on mnet twice
i agree they need a break but it might be a bit "dangerous" for their popularity

We're already seeing this happen with Ayumi Hamasaki, only Avex is making her release a compilation album with only one new song. Idols are like robots (just hear me out for a moment): We keep working them to death until a meltdown ensues. Only then do we show mercy and let them rest.

I just hope Starship Entertainment gets a clue and let them take time off.

I suppose they have no laws set in place to keep that from happening. Pretty sad.

Unfortunately for them, they're now a product, at least according to the company. They'll continue to work them until their bodies, and/or minds, can't handle it anymore.

Stupid companies only interested in money -___-

Don't you think they may be able to transfer to a record company that's more merciful towards them?

nah, most groups in Korea have deals that tie them to the company for certain amounts of time and under certain circumstances...they really are like a product. it's really screwed up but that's how the world is, money is the most important thing!

Of course, when their contract ends. Leaving before the contract ends would result in them having to pay a lot of money, which I doubt they have.

There's also high competition in kpop. I think about 60 groups debuted in 2012 only. Between 2009 and 2011 there were 116 groups. In order for the groups to stay on the top of the game, they need as much exposure they can get.

Taking breaks would directly lead to some of these other groups to get a foothold in the territory, which, of course, the companies don't want to happen because they'll lose money to their rivals.

It's actually a very simple and scary explanation as to why they don't got any vacations... However, three days shouldn't be too much to ask.
