July 30th is Taiwanese singer/actor Show Luo's birthday. For his 33rd birthday, he told his fans not to send him any gifts but instead donate to the needy and provide charitable works.
For the past 5 years Show Luo had celebrated his birthday with his fans. Last year his fans gave him a watch worth around $18,000 USD. Luo has also been donating around $80,000 USD a year to different institutions providing nutritional meals to primary school children. But this year he wants to do something different.
Show Luo uploaded a video on YouTube yesterday telling his fans his 33rd birthday wish.
Below is a translation of his message:
Many things happened within my family recently and as a result I learnt to cherish the happiness I currently have. Every year when it is my birthday, the people around me including fans, colleagues and friends would give me many valuable presents. But today I want to tell all of you, I want to give love and blessings to the people in need.
So right now I urge you to find a few friends and do something charitable. You can visit "United Way" to donate money and also volunteer to help children in need to provide them with a future and better education. This is something I wish that all of you can do with me. I hope that we can all do what we can and participate in charity.
