Kodansha and Sailor Moon creator Naoko Takeuchi announced on Friday that there will be a new anime adaption of her hit series. The new series will air in the summer of 2013 and Momoiro Clover Z will be performing a theme song.
The announcement was made during the live event celebrating the 20th anniversary of the manga. Kotono Mitsuishi (Usagi/Sailor Moon) and Tohru Furuya (Mamoru/Tuxedo Mask) were at the event and did not say whether they would reprise their roles. Momoiro Clover Z sang "Moonlight Densetsu" at the event via a live video feed from France as they are guests at Japan Expo. It's not known if they will perform the opening or ending theme to the new anime.
Kodansha USA will release volume 6 of the manga on July 10th.
