PSY's hugely successful hit song "Gangnam Style" has won "Music Bank" for its 8th week, becoming the 2nd most successful song on the program of all time.
The show's countdown chart, K-Chart, lists the top 50 songs in Korea based on digital music sales (65%), radio and TV play (20%), viewers' choice (10%) and album sales (5%). The song on top of the chart is declared the week's winner, receiving a prize.
Since adopting the K-chart in September of 2007, few artists have been able to stay on top of the K-Chart for more than 5 weeks. Girls' Generation's 2009 smash hit "Gee" holds the record for most weeks at #1 with 11 K-chart wins.
In addition to PSY's song having the 2nd most weeks at #1, the song also holds the record for having the highest score, receiving 30,454 points this past week. The song has steadily been scoring higher and higher since August.

I didn't really like the song at first, and then it grew on me, and WHAT a shock it was when i heard it on the radio here in America like two weeks ago. AND what a shock it was again, when I heard my cousins in INDIA raving about its popularity...
thats just because the song is so popular overseas i think... if it didnt have such an inpact on america he wouldnt be 1st for such a long time in korea... because its not rly korean ppls taste/style (but thats just what i think)
I'm probably one of the few people here who actually doesn't really like the song, but congrats to PSY anyways.
(It was totally shocking when I figured out even my brothers knew the song... and actually thought it was amazing...)
