Despite its massive international success, including the American market, PSY has no plans to record an English version of his hit song "Gangnam Style".
The rapper explained that adding a new English version of the song wouldn't be helpful, but rather confuse people. "For this song, I think verbal is not that important, nonverbal, I think just the dance moves and how it sounds and how it looks was the point of the story," he said.
Although "Gangnam Style" won't have an English version, PSY plans on releasing new music in English. He currently plans on return to Korea to release a new single that will be available in both languages.
The new English release will likely to be handled by Scooter Braun, PSY's manager outside of Korea. The rapper shared his thoughts on his new manager.
"When I see Scooter Braun I feel like I'm watching a mirror because we have really same character mental-wise, working hard, not sleeping, working hard, partying hard, drinking hard and then working hard, loving life, loving music. When we talk together we are brother from a different mother. He was the very first manager that I met in the U.S., but he was the first and last because we are so similar," he said.
PSY also revealed that he plans to bring back some of his old dance moves such as "The Bird" for upcoming songs, exposing them to an international audience.

That's great, it would make no sense making an English version of Gangnam style, which is a district in Korea. It would loose its originality to make another version, plus why should PSY do what Americans want? XD
THANK GOD. I love this guy then. The song got popular in Korean. I don't see the point of making the English version. English speakers can just go look up the translations if they really wanted to know what the song is actually talking about.
If foreign countries can do that with most English songs, why can't English speakers do the same, right?
Making an English version would just maul it to death.
It's awesome that he isn't recording the English version. The essence of the song is preserved
It's such a fun song and down right crazy..won't sound so good in English

I think original versions are always better, besides that sometimes lyrics are changed a bit in translated versions because it doesn't rime or something like that... I agree with him, he's doing well...
i agree with him because some songs are not meant to be translated, the original version is better =]
gotta give props to psy for not releasing english version of gangnam style, unlike some other artiste who release english version of their songs which sounds terrible
well - Gangnam Style is Korean and it stays Korean. [:
wise decision.
I would not even give the english version a chance if he made one because I know it will sound like some bullshit. There is no point of making one, it already has perfect success just the way it is.
i think that if the song was in english it might throw off the beat of the song plus what if someone doesnt really care about language only the dance?
That's good. I think an English version would sound insincere. He can speak pretty decent English so it would probably sound OK in that regard but I think a lot of the appeal is that the song became popular by itself without him trying to sell it to foreigners.
It's great that he won't be caving under the pressure that many artists fall to in making an English version. This song is playing on the American markets and people are listening to it even if it's not English. This is a great way to maybe potentially getting Americans (and perhaps other cultures) interested in K-pop for the musical worth
I think english wouldn't sound as good as korean !
i soooooo agree with you on that one
!
That's good. It's better in Korean.
okay that's cool i see
Good idea! i think it sounds great in korean, making an english version would be stupid and would just be for wanting sales
It's not that it would sound wierd or anything like that, but this is making americans listen to a differnet language, they want an english version because of the jerks who refuse to listen to korean lyrics. I'm proud he stuck it ot the man. Hallalujah!!
it would kinda sound weird if it was in english.. o.o
glad he didn't make the english ver. xD
