NMB48 has done it again by topping the charts with their new single "Junjo U-19". The single sold 329,000 copies in the first week and debuted at the number one spot for the week of 2/20.
From their debut single "Zetsumetsu Kurokaminoke Shojyo" last July to their second single "Oh My God!" and up to their most recent single "Junjo U-19" have all ranked number one on the charts.
Having a female artist's song debuting at number one three times in a row consecutively is a new record set 45 years since the Oricon single ranking charts have been established. Artists such as Hiroko Yakushimaru and Erika Sawajiri have both after debuting have had up to two consecutive number one singles and this was almost 29 years into the Oricon single ranking charts.
Just for your information AKB48 did not get their first number one hit single until their 14th single "RIVER" and SKE48 did not get their first number one hit single until their 5th single "BanzaiVenus".
