Namie Amuro's latest album "Uncontrolled" have continued its no.1 winning streak at Oricon Weekly Album Chart for three consecutive weeks. The said album have reached a total of 416,000 sales and ranked 4th in overall 2012 album ranking. This is the first time that the Queen of Jpop topped the Oricon Album Chart for three consecutive weeks if you would disregard her "Best Fiction", which stayed at Oricon Charts for six consecutive weeks. "Best Fiction" is a compilation album/best-of-album than an original album.
This is also the first time in 5 1/2 years that a female solo singer topped the Oricon Album Charts for three consecutive weeks. The other two who held the top spot are Mariya Takeuchi with "Expressions" and Koda Kumi with "Black Cherry".
Furthermore, the pretty singer, who will be celebrating her 20th anniversary this September, have also managed to secure the top spot in Hong Kong's HMV Japanese/Korean chart for two consecutive weeks.
Congratulations Namie!

..おめでとうございます安室ちゃん!!!..All hail the Queen of JPop!
Congrats Namie-chii I really love this album it's awesome!
So happy for Namie its such a great album.
Congrats Namie! She does deserve the title Queen of J-pop!
congratulations Namie! you deserve it!
She and Ayumi has around the same success in the past, but she managed to maintain her consistent sales, while Ayumi's albums just simply flop, without even releasing singles.
you could barely compare them together other than the fact that they are both singers . Namie doesn't write her own lyrics but she dances to her tunes while Ayu writes her own but doesn't dance.
Just because they're different, it doesn't mean I can't compare their fanbase size. They have around the same in the past, but Ayu party queen just flopped badly, failing to sell even 100k in the 1st week, even though ALL are new songs since she don't release singles.
just had to comment. while namie is selling better now, ayu is STILL AND ALWAYS the queen of jpop with over 50million sales, while namie has "just" little over 30million. No hate on namie, she is a very cute girl and deserves her success, even though I personally don't like her music.
No one says Ayu records are not impressive. I'm just talking about current fanbase and sales.
And the fact that Ayu has such impressive sales even further shows something she's doing currently went so wrong that it would drop by such huge margin.
That's my point, no one's debating who's queen of jpop from the start. Oh and btw, I'm not a fan of both, just interested all in J-entertainment stuffs and trends.
Sorry if I sounded too harsh, understood your view wrongly
But yeah your right, she is not the "it" girl anymore, and hasn't been for years, one could debate hours for "what went wrong", why she's not selling like she used to. Trends chance and everything ~ but she has made her big mark to j-pop, and if this is what she wants to do now, then that's just fine. Overall, namie's music has always been more mainstream than ayu's (imo).
She's really talented! Her "Queen of Jpop" title is well deserved!
Omedetou Namie
