Dr. Nishii, a psychiatrist who is known for analysing the interaction between people and anime, has discovered eleven reasons why people may have lost interest in anime titles by talking to anime fans.
1. It's difficult to watch when the rival is such a nasty character.

2. The rival's death can make you lose interest in the story.

3. A substantial change in design makes a character no longer your favorite.
4. Interest in a title during debut can change when it becomes a major work.
5. There is a lack of promotion, so fans forget that it's there.

6. Abrupt endings...

7. Not enough merchandise.
8. Lack of fan-made work.

9. A fan's favorite character changes his/her personality.

10. Interests start to change.

11. Fans become too busy to watch anything.

These reasons probably apply to the majority of non-Japanese fans but if I were to add an extra reason it would be cliche storylines - it becomes less interesting because you know what is going to happen.
Can you relate to these reasons or do you have some of your own?

Yes, I agree with these reasons. I don't watch a lot of anime anymore because I became very busy during the last few years. I only read manga nowadays.
I don't watch anime 3 moths ago... because I started to watch dramas :S
but I want to keep watching anime
I still watch anime weekly at least. Sometimes everyday. I am more driven to continue to watch a series even though I may predict whats going to happen is if I have a strong fondness for a character or see a character developing and usually if the artwork doesn't begin to get sloppy as some animes have become close to the series ending.
I agreeXD I stopped to watch anime even through I want to watch some later... I started to watch asian dramas, they seem to be more interessting to me
I agree, this is why I always stick to manga instead. I couldn't continue reading andd watching naruto because itachi died + shippuuden 2 sucks .... Same goes with bleach, endless circle about Ichigo saving people/shinigamis....But the main reason for me is because I don't like anime which doesn't follow the original plot and lots of fillers episodes
Yeah, I agree with these reasons
Lack of originality!! And yes...cliches, too. My top reasons are those two aaaaand...comedies and simply being too busy to watch them anymore. Poo.
Well lets see.....i love Naruto, but i dnt watch it much and idk why, even tho im so anxious of finding out more!!! But im in to watch the new movie
11 and 6 are my reasons especially 6! but i love anime and sometimes when an anime needs to end and they stretch it out....... -___- bleach!
My reasons are: 6, 7, 10 and 11. But even so, when I have time, I watch anime, read manga and go on JPA!
But I still love Animes and will always do, cause I'm a motherfuc*ing OTAKU
I agree with the death of rival, especially for death note after Kira pwned L
11 is my only reason!!!
I agree with most of it even tho I'm still watching anime. Although sometimes I also get bored with it.. Too many episodes and characters makes me confused
I agree with most of his reasons~but I still kept watching them . Funimation channel was discontinued in my area so I don't get tO watch them anymore~Death Note~
Web time~
ceritanya sulit dimengerti..... (-_-)
REASON 11 !!
some reasons are kind of lame but others truth,In my opinion there are few animes with an interesting storyline and if they have it, they make it longer and longer and longer and people get tired, and they destroyed the interest
Also the characters are always the same in most of the animes. you always know how they are going to react and say which is boring, lately I prefer watch korean dramas are shorter and consistent. and it has a lot action too lol.
people watch the "bridal mask" is an excellent drama. just saying dont get mad
This is all too, too true. It can become so predictable... And the characters are a lot of the times very two-dimensional. And especially because they almost always drag on for so long. They make it longer than needed.
the one about it ending abruply. So true. Damn you skip beat, vampire knight, spiral, and other animes. Don't make em if you're not going to finish them, I lose interest in watching because it's not going to be finished anyway!
