On May 14th, popular idol group Kis-My-Ft2’s equipment truck caught fire while driving on the Chugoku Expressway in Toyonaka City, Osaka.
According to the local fire department, the driver noticed smoke coming from the load-carrying section of the truck at 10:40 am. Fire fighters rushed to the scene shortly afterwards, but it took an hour and 20 minutes to extinguish the flames. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
The equipment truck was returning to Tokyo after Kis-My-Ft2 performed in Hiroshima on the 12th and 13th as part of their “Kis-My-MiNT Tour”. No injuries have been reported.

Wow... I didn't think vehicles usually go up in smoke like that outside of the movies. I wonder what happened...
It could have been something as simple as a brake pad getting too hot (which they will do if too much stress is applied, especially with a heavy load of cargo like this truck must have been carrying) or an electrical circuit wire snapping and setting off a spark. Just happy no one was injured in this.
