KARA member Hara was sent to the emergency room around 10 a.m. on January 31st and is undergoing surgery for appendicitis.
The idol was rushed to the hospital after she began suffering from intense abdominal pains. She was diagnosed with appendicitis and sent to the OR for surgery to remove her appendix.
Following Hara's surgery, the singer will be given time to rest and recover her health, a representative for the singer shared.
Appendicitis is a condition where the appendix becomes inflamed, causing severe abdominal pain. Left untreated, the appendix will rupture, causing the intestines to become infected, inflame and eventually leads to sepsis.
With the high risk of further, fatal complications occurring from appendicitis, the disease is considered a medical emergency and is typically treated immediately.
