Kanjani8's Maruyama Ryuhei, who is currently doing TV drama "Boys on the Run", made a radical change of hairstyle for the show. Maru will now be sporting a "mohawk" hairstyle; however, the said hairstyle is just a wig made into perfection by the make-up team. Even he was surprised on how real it looks on him.
The "mohawk" scene is an important point in the drama and in the manga as well. The said physical transformation is also a sign of Tanishi Toshiyuki's (Maru's character) fighting spirit to win the girl that he loves.
The said hairdo is reminiscent of Robert de Niro's Travis Bickle character for the movie Taxi Driver wherein he began doing the "tough guy" act after being rejected by a girl.
Maruyama said that fans should expect a big surprise that will surely shock them with the succeeding episodes of "Boys on the Run".
