JJ Lin (Lin Jun Jie) did not get nominated in any category for this year's Taiwan Golden Melody Awards. Back in his hometown Singapore, Lin won 3 major awards from Compass. This includes Best Local Artist, Best Local Chinese Pop Song, and Best Local Singer-Songwriter Of The Year. When interviewed he boldly spoke of his feelings regarding the Golden Melody Awards.
"Is it because my songs are bad, or the judges didn't understand my songs?"
This statement caused a big discussion among local Singaporean media.
JJ Lin released his album Lost N Found last year to critical acclaim. His confidence of being nominated in the Golden Melody Awards was high but in the end he was not even in one category. Lin expressed that he was "completely devastated and lost all confidence" For an entire week he was depressed, started to feel pathetic and lost all motivation to write and compose music. He questioned if his "composed and written work had problems"

He slowly regained his confidence and understood that his fans and music industry's opinion were far more important than being nominated. He added that he wants to be nominated in the future but hope that the rules of the ceremony can be more clear.
