Musician GACKT, founder of the Show Your Heart Foundation for disaster victims, visited the three memorial events in the Iwate and Miyagi Prefectures yesterday, March 11th, on the anniversary of 2011’s Tohoku earthquake.
At 2:46 pm, the moment the 9.0 magnitude quake shook the region exactly a year before, GACKT participated in a moment of silence at the Minami Sanriku Bayside Arena in Miyagi and offered flowers to the altar. Afterwards GACKT stated, “3.11 is a date which we can’t forget. To bring relief to victims soon, we must one by one start seeing things in a new light.”
GACKT stood alongside actor Kawasaki Mayo and the members of YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz. More than two hundred million yen (~ 24 million USD) in funds have been donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society.

My comment will probably be off topic but I can't help not noticing his posture. He's standing so straight, like an athlete. And it's also obvious that he's really paying his respects to those people, not just pulling off some advertising scheme. Well done, Gckt. That's why I admire this man.

I always Prayed for Japan and still do and I know that they will rise up and show the world that they can overcome a challenge and be an example for other countries for why there known as the Rising Sun because they will rise up. Pray for Japan!
I was watching this program on TV that was talking about the Great East Japan Earthquake a few days ago. You know there was this girls shcool, and the head of it, instead of taking the girls to higher ground, which happened to be right behind the school, lined all the girls up in front of the school so that they got washed away by the tsunami and died. When one of the parents of these girls asked why the head of the school did this, why he didn't take them to higher ground when it was just behind the school, he told her with a straight face that "it was their destiny" to die. Can you imagine such a thing??? The Japanese are way to passive cause If I were that mother I would have ripped that man's face right off when he said that!!!
I got so upset when hearing that story I had to shut the tv off.
